Hugging the ground, with low, sheltering roofs and spacious interiors, Wright's Prairie houses have long been favorites among his hundreds of buildings. These grew out of the artist's love for America's heartland, the Midwest, and captured the imagination of a word hungry for new architectural ideas in the early 1900s.
